Family

"Mr. Bennet missed his second daughter exceedingly..." (357)

Jane Austen had an extremely close relationship with her dad, George. Jane was the youngest daughter, just as Elizabeth was in Pride and Prejudice. Some say that George was the reason that Jane got into writing. As a child Jane and her sister had access to their father's library which was filled with great literature of their time. Feeding Jane's passion (reading and writing), was most likely what made their father daughter relationship so strong. The similarities between Jane and George, and Mr. Bennet and Elizabeth are countless. The father daughter bond was one way for Jane to let herself shine through her work.
